Marc Cerrone
The Godfather of the Dancefloors
His work continues to transcend generations; his tracks have been sampled, reworked and remixed by artists of all styles and eras … from the Beastie Boys to Kylie Minogue, via Toto, La Toya Jackson, Donna Summer, Run-DMC, Duke Dumont, Kevin Saunderson… and more recently Jamie XX, Purple Disco Machine and Franc Moody. Cerrone’s sound, style and groove span nearly five decades of music.
His influence is particularly evident across the various eras of the French Touch, through the sounds of Cassius, Dimitri From Paris, Bob Sinclar, Justice and Breakbot.
From millions of physical album sales to the success of streaming, Cerrone’s catalogue has successfully made the digital transition, racking up hundreds of millions of streams and reaching an ever-wider audience across new generations around the world.
2024: An Olympic comeback
To mark the opening of Paris 2024, ‘Supernature’ was played during an eight-minute sequence illustrating the arrival of the Olympic flame.
Broadcast worldwide to 2 billion online viewers, the impact was immediate, with the track reaching number one on Shazam, illustrating the (re)discovery of a track on a global scale.
A new artistic dimension
On 31 December 2024, Cerrone made a lasting impression with a performance on the Champs-Élysées.
Building on this, he launched ‘Disco Symphony’, an ambitious project reimagining his catalogue in a symphonic disco style.
Presented in Nice and then at the Philharmonie de Paris, featuring guests such as Christine and the Queens and Laylow, this project heralds a new era in his career.
The project is now expanding internationally, with performances announced at major festivals such as Jazz à Vienne and the Montreux Jazz Festival, confirming that this format is here to stay.
A global presence, bridging the new generation and club culture
More than ever, Cerrone is establishing himself as an artist on the move, connected to new scenes and new generations.
Through his summer tour, he is racking up major dates and cementing his status as an artist who appeals across generations.
He is performing at key events such as Versailles Électro alongside Dabeull and Folamour, rising stars of the French disco scene, as well as at the legendary Pacha Ibiza with Purple Disco Machine (and also headlining the Delta Festival in Marseille). Meanwhile, his Disco Symphony project continues to take centre stage at major venues, with performances scheduled at Jazz à Vienne and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Classics that are constantly evolving
‘Supernature’ continues to circulate through new versions and remixes, notably with Purple Disco Machine, as well as several recent synchronisations, including a Zalando campaign
Meanwhile, ‘Give Me Love’, another classic from Cerrone’s discography, was featured in Renault’s latest campaign, launched in February 2026 to coincide with Valentine’s Day.
Armada, the renowned European electronic music label, is dedicating a series of compilations to his work in 2026 and 2027, bringing together an international generation of DJs and producers (insert names).
A living legend, an album in the making
Always in tune with the new generation, he has been collaborating extensively with contemporary artists such as Franc Moody, Adi Oasis, Sofi Tukker, Bellaire and Electric Guest.
“A year and a half ago, I set up my production company and my recording studio in Cannes, and I’m particularly happy about that. As I live in Ramatuelle, just a few kilometres away, I can easily travel back and forth and make the most of these two places, which are very dear to me.
For me, Cannes embodies the true ‘Dolce Vita’. It is a city that is dynamic, vibrant and creative, whilst retaining a rather exceptional quality of life.
I believe I have found my ideal balance here: Cannes has become much more than just a place of work for me; it is a true way of life.”
