We know Cannes for its exceptional location on the Mediterranean coast but we imagine ourselves with our toes in a fan rather than on a surfboard! And yet, several spots in Cannes are regularly the rendezvous of surfers when the weather and the wind awaken the beautiful Mediterranean. The wave lovers offer a most unexpected spectacle to the curious walkers who come to venture towards the Palm Beach point in particular.

This label awarded by the French Surfing Federation promotes not only surfing but also its associated disciplines such as stand up paddle. The decisive criteria are the welcome of these practices in a favourable environment for the local and tourist populations.

“Cannes, Capital of Outdoor Sport” can thus largely defend its position as the capital of outdoor sport!

Cannes thus joins the 11 French communes that have this label.

The “City of Surf” label was created by the French Surfing Federation in 2015. This quality tourism label aims to promote municipalities that provide a welcome and an environment conducive to the practice of surfing in its various forms, for the local population or tourists.
